MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join our team and make a difference for patients in both Waterville and Augusta. This is a great opportunity for an RN who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working on a collaborative team, and is passionate about providing exceptional care when patients need it most. This is a 36-hour-per-week position with weekend and holiday rotation.
This position requires you to work at both the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville and the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, with shifts assigned at each location. You’ll be cross-trained to work in both Emergency Departments and gain experience across two clinical settings.
The Role: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Provides direct patient care to patients in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires. What You'll Bring: Active Maine RN licensure or the ability to obtain Maine licensure promptly At least 2 years of RN experience, preferred Prior/recent RN experience working in an ER environment, strongly preferred Preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and prioritization skills The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and patient-focused in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Information: $36.00 - $63.00 The hourly
shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
