What We OfferForsyth Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Emergency Department team and provide dedicated clinical support for our Observation Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with emergency department experience who enjoys caring for a diverse patient population, working in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team.
Position HighlightsPractice within the Emergency Department Observation UnitRotating 12-hour shifts to support 24/7 clinical operationsEvaluate and manage patients appropriate for observation-level carePerform comprehensive histories and physical examinationsDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment plansOrder and interpret diagnostic testingReassess patients throughout their observation stay and determine appropriate dispositionCollaborate with Emergency Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary care teamsProvide high-quality, patient-centered care with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and timely dispositionWe are looking for an APP who:Is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) eligible for practice in North CarolinaHas prior Emergency Department experienceIs comfortable managing acute and undifferentiated medical conditionsDemonstrates strong clinical judgment and decision-making skillsThrives in a high-acuity, team-oriented environmentCommunicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionalsIs adaptable and comfortable working rotating 12-hour shiftsWhy Join Us?

Rotating 12 hour shifts What We're Looking ForEducation: Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program or NP or Post Master's NP program, required.
Emergency Room Experience as an APP requiredLicensure/Certification: Current PA or NP License in appropriate state or current NP license in appropriate state, registry w/ state medical board and current DEA registry, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
