Endoscopy Tech- on call requirements

The Endoscopy Technician is directly responsible to the GI physician, Endoscopy RN, Surgeon, or the RN/Supervisor of the area that the Endoscopy is being performed (ie, ER, ICU/CCU, OR). The Endoscopy Technician works as a scrub assistant to the physician during all invasive endoscopy procedures. They perform all GI procedures including, but not limited to Biopsy, Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC), Barrx, Dilation, Specimen acquisition, Labeling and handling, and Peg Tube placement.

All at the direction of the GI Physician, Surgeon, or RN. The Endoscopy Technician is also responsible for insuring safe transportation, handling, disinfection, sterilization and maintenance of the Flexible Endoscopes, and the Automated Reprocessing devices. ...
