Environmental Aide

Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient, non-patient corridors, lounges, offices, and other assigned floor areas. To burnish corridors, patient rooms and other floor areas on a scheduled basis. To collect and transport trash and regulated medical waste from designated collection sites to the designated area for storage and pick-up.

Prepare equipment and chemicals for daily use and report to the assigned work area. Clean and disinfect corridor floors, lounges, nursing stations, and other assigned areas by dust mopping and wet mopping daily. Burnish corridor, patient, and other areas as per schedule.

Remove trash from designated collection sites and transport it to a designated area. Remove regulated medical waste from the designated collection site and transport to assigned area for storage and pick-up. Hang cubicle curtains, draperies, and shower curtains as needed.

Assist in moving of furniture as requested. Maintain equipment daily and report any needed repairs to the supervisor. Inspection of the assigned area—report safety and patient concerns to the immediate supervisor.
