As a member of our Environmental Services (EVS) team, you’ll play an important role in supporting the patient experience throughout the hospital. This position offers hands-on training, opportunities to develop valuable skills, and the chance to build a rewarding career within Environmental Services and across Cleveland Clinic.
Various shifts and hours are available. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Clean patient rooms, utility rooms, nourishment rooms, conference rooms, offices, corridors, stairways, locker rooms and restrooms. Clean toilets, urinals, sinks and lockers.
Replenish supplies. Collect trash and needles and dispose of them in an appropriate manner. Dust ceilings, ceiling vents, TVs, light fixtures, doors, walls, wall hangings and flat surfaces.
Wash or spot clean walls, cabinets, elevators, counters, desks and windows. Clean floors, carpets, floods and body fluids. Use and maintain equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, cleaning carts, buckets, wringers, sweeping tools and mops.
Clean and disinfect beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, IV poles and other items in patient rooms. Strip and make beds. Transport and move furniture and equipment.
Report malfunctioning equipment, unsafe conditions and broken items.
