Environmental Services Associate - Full Time

Supports the hospital’s mission and vision by providing a clean, and safe environment, and performing this with respect, compassion, collaborative and cost effective manner. Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care. Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient’s personal characteristics.

Replenishes room supplies including hand sanitizer and restocks clean linen in assigned department(s) as many times per shift as required by patient census and or procedures. Removes biohazard waste, trash and soiled linen from care units and transport to appropriate collection areas according to safe handling procedures in accordance with Infection Control. Cleans trash transport carts, linen carts and housekeeping carts including disinfecting wheels as needed.

Removes pharmaceutical waste according to safe handling procedures. Performs carpet care including vacuuming, extracting and bonneting as required. Performs discharge (terminal cleaning) and daily patient room cleaning according to check lists to assure compliance with infection control standards.

Follows pre-established check lists assigned for specific daily duties required of an assigned shift or area.

High School Graduate or GED preferred and/or 1 year janitor and/or housekeeping experience may substitute for preferred education. 1 year work experience preferred. Education High School (preferred)
