You’ll need
Certifications
✓Certification must be valid and current.
✓National certification for EMT valid and current or higher with Phlebotomy training via SMMC within 6 months.
✓Employees practicing in this role more than 10 years at SMMC are exempt from certification requirements.
✓BLS required.
Education
✓Certification from an approved phlebotomy training program required, with the exception of EMT, see below. Certification must be valid and current. National certification for EMT valid and current or higher with Phlebotomy training via SMMC within 6 months.
Qualifications
✓Experience in phlebotomy required.
✓Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from nursing staff manual dexterity required to use hands easily skillfully while aiding patients.
