WORK SCHEDULEDays100% FTE100& Remote – must be on site as business need requirePOSITION HIGHLIGHTSUnder the guidance of the ERC Project Director and the leadership of the Program Manager, the ERC Intelligent Automation Program will be managed in partnership with ERC Leadership and participation from IT ServicesDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONERC departments assume responsibility for a wide array of Revenue Cycle functions, including but not limited to: Patient Registration, Financial Clearance, Financial Assistance, Charge Capture and Reconciliation, Coding, Clinical Documentation Integrity, Patient Identity, Information Governance, as well as Billing.

The Enterprise Revenue Cycle Intelligent Automation Program aims to explore and evaluate automation and AI solutions, such as Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), automated file extracts/imports between systems, and other emerging technologiesPRIMARY

Collaborate with ERC leadership to identify automation and AI opportunities to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, increase productivity, accelerate processing, or improve the patient and/or employee experienceServe as the primary point of contact for ERC automation/AI requests, reviewing and triaging requests in partnership with ITS Automation SolutionsIdentify opportunities for process re-engineering, optimization, and/or standardization prior to automationFor automation/AI solutions approved for build, lead and facilitate workflow reviews and business requirements analysisTranslate complex Revenue Cycle processes into clear requirements that can be understood and implemented by the developerTranslate business requirements into actionable development specificationsFacilitate stakeholders' review of solution design/prototyping sessions to ensure alignment with business processes and requirementsDevelop specific solution UAT approach/plan, criteria, and scenariosCoordinate Go-Live readiness activities with Program Manager to deploy solutionsMaintain program knowledge base with each deploymentREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a health-care oriented profession, a business-related field, or other disciplines that demonstrate analytical or communications abilities4+ years recent healthcare/IT experience, including:2+ years of healthcare revenue cycle process improvement and/or automation/AI delivery experienceValues consistent with those of UW Medicine's mission to improve the health of the public by advancing medical knowledge, providing outstanding primary and specialty care to the people of the region, and preparing tomorrow's physicians, scientists, and other health professionals.

Experience with Epic, working with Revenue Cycle modulesWorking knowledge of at least one of the following technologies: Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Generative AI (GenAI), Agentic AI, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)Experience in performing cost versus benefit analysis and return on investment trackingDemonstrated experience in facilitating discussion to clarify and document business requirements for a technical solutionFamiliarity with process optimization approaches such as, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Business Process Reengineering (BPR)Experience with UAT and Go-Live/Hypercare supportAbove average proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel, Word, and VisioAn equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirementsABOUT UW MEDICINE – WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHERUW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
