You’ll need
Certifications
✓Current BLS certification required upon hire and henceforth kept current.
✓ACLS within 6 months of hire and henceforth kept current.
American Collegeof Sports Medicine (ACSM) and/or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) clinical certification preferred.
Education
✓Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field.
Qualifications
✓Plan and implement exercise programs based individual patient needs.
✓Recognizes cardiac emergencies or symptoms of exercise intolerance and intervenes appropriately.
✓Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
✓Works inside.
✓Work is of minimum to moderate physical demand
✓sitting at a desk, carrying office supplies, and assisting patients with exercise equipment and routines.
✓Long shifts or occasional overtime necessary to assure continuity of patient care.
✓Normal or corrected vision is required to interpret rhythms, process paperwork, read physician orders, and use computer.
✓Normal or corrected hearing is required to monitor equipment and alarms, use telephone, and participate in conversations.
Basic EKG interpretation skills. Prior experience in health promotion programming or previous cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred.
About the role
The Exercise Physiologist functions as a team member of the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab departments and is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of exercise and educational related programs for program participants.
