Licensure
✓Mercy Arkansas Hospitals require High Pressure Boiler Operators License administered by Arkansas Dept. of Labor and Licensing where boilers are installed.
✓Incumbents must have license.
✓New hires must obtain licensure within 1 year of employment.
✓Mercy Hospital OKC requires Class III Boiler Operator's License administered by Oklahoma Dept. of Labor where boilers are installed.
✓New hires must obtain licensure within 90 days of employment.
✓Incumbents must have training.
✓New hires will be required to complete training within 90 days of employment.
Certifications
✓Class C Tank Operator Training and Certification required for all Mercy locations.
✓Must achieve certification within 90 days of employment.
✓Fire door maintenance training program with certificate of completion.
✓UL fire stop training with certificate of completion.
✓EPA Universal Certification as required by 40CFR, Part 82, Subpart F for all Mercy locations.
✓Must achieve certification within 12 months of employment.
Prefer training in NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance. preferred
Prefer training in UL standards for fire stopping. preferred
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School.
Qualifications
✓Valid Drivers License for all Mercy locations
✓4 or more years commercial experience working with HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
✓Requires oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and follow instructions.
✓Verbal ability required to read and understand technical manuals.
✓Numerical ability required to make calculations for testing, installation, measurement, estimation and repair of equipment.
✓Ability to prioritize work assignments, conceptualize and formulate finished product.
✓Form perception is required when measuring and installing parts and equipment.
✓Spatial ability required to understand forms and relationships when working from blueprints or specifications.
✓Requires knowledge and use of various computer software such as Outlook, TMS and/or Nuvolo.
✓Ability to manage time and materials efficiently. Completes work assignments in a high-quality manner and the lowest cost to Mercy.
✓Requires exceptional customer service skills and ability to achieve department goals.
✓Requires general manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.

About the role

This is a highly skilled position requiring advanced knowledge of boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, control system maintenance and operation, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and painting. The skills required for this position will allow the incumbent to resolve repair issues independently with little to no supervision.
