Qualifications
✓In collaboration with supervising physician, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
✓Identify health status of patients by taking medical history, performing exam, and initiating and evaluating screening and diagnostic procedures.
✓Provide services in accordance with Standard procedures.
✓Determine which patient to refer to the physician for further diagnostics and treatment.
✓Plan and assume responsibility with physician for ongoing health maintenance and clinical management of patients in stable phases of acute and chronic illnesses.
✓Evaluate patient’s emotional behavior, counsel, and instruct individuals and families regarding domestic and health related problems.
✓Initiate orders for diagnostic laboratory tests and x-rays. Interpret and review results. Review medication refills.
✓Assure that adequate patient health records are maintained and transferred when required.
✓Serve as clinical consultant to nursing and ancillary personnel.
✓Coordinate work activities with families, community agencies, and other members of the health care team.
✓Promote economies in service and lower patient costs whenever possible.
✓Participate in development and annual review of policies and procedures. Participate in periodic medical records review.
