Qualifications
✓Demonstrated progression in nursing leadership, including charge nurse experience, clinical coordination, supervisory responsibility, or equivalent leadership accountability.
✓Demonstrated clinical competence in obstetric, postpartum, and newborn care sufficient to support bedside care, staff coaching, and safe escalation of concerns.
✓Ability to function as a clinical resource and provide direct patient care within the Family Birth Center when operational needs are required, including high-acuity situations, high census, emergency response, or short-staffing scenarios.
✓Knowledge of obstetric, newborn, and postpartum nursing standards of care.
✓Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, providers, and leaders.
✓Ability to lead teams through change, support accountability, and promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
✓Working knowledge of regulatory, quality, and patient safety expectations applicable to inpatient obstetric and newborn care.
✓Ability to participate in hospital orientation, leadership development, and ongoing educational requirements.
Minimum of three years of healthcare leadership experience. preferred
Prior leadership experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn care, women’s services, or a Family Birth Center setting. preferred
Experience with quality improvement, regulatory readiness, staff scheduling, performance management, and interdisciplinary care coordination. preferred

About the role

The Family Birth Center Nurse Manager is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Family Birth Center, including staffing, clinical practice standards, quality outcomes, patient experience, team engagement, and collaboration with medical staff, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary partners.
