Education
✓Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Qualifications
✓Broad professional knowledge in business management, financial analysis and accounting practices, with the ability to provide financial guidance and direction required.
✓Must demonstrate strong numerical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail.
✓Must have working knowledge of computers, file management, MS Excel and other software used to effectively track budgets, project estimates, financial analysis and projections, and project status reports.
✓Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with investigators, research administrators, and financial partners.
✓Requires 3+ years of previous related experience in financial analysis, financial management and operations. Experience in sponsored research, clinical, and academic environments preferred.
✓Knowledge of federal regulations governing sponsored research, including NIH and Uniform Guidance requirements.
✓Experience with Workday or similar financial management systems.
✓Experience in Microsoft Office software, spreadsheet and database management software and applications is required.
✓Requires ability to learn new systems and applications with limited formal training.
✓Strong organizational skills and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
✓Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines and redirect and refocus as needed.
✓Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate the financial considerations and impacts of project accounting, reporting, managing, negotiating between members of the research teams, and effectively interacting with all levels of research program personnel and outside contractors and consultants.
Familiarity with the full sponsored award lifecycle, including financial monitoring, reporting, and closeout preferred.
Interest in learning about public health and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment preferred.
