First Cook

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and quality-focused First Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will prepare and assemble food items using standardized recipes while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have cooking experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards Responsibilities Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.

Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value. Assemble food within appropriate time frames. Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.

Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure. Takes ownership for self and others in work area. Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Required Qualifications One to three years cook experience Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language. Basic math skills. Certified or willing to become certified for food safety

High School Diploma/G. E. D.
