Licensure
✓Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Graduate from an accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license, or completion of the 1997 DHHA Health Care Partner internal training program, required.
Certifications
✓BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
Education
✓Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Certificate from a clinical Medical Assistant school Required or
✓Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Graduate from an accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license, or completion of the 1997 DHHA Health Care Partner internal training program, required. Required
Qualifications
✓Completion of a 160 hour externship Required or
✓six (6) months direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting: inclusive of phlebotomy, medication administration (intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and immunizations), and medical/surgical asepsis procedures and techniques, Required and
✓DLR-Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles Required and
✓Knowledge of medical office practice.
✓Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
✓Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
✓Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
✓Knowledge and applicability of the principles of growth and development over the life span, as well as demonstrating the ability to assess data reflecting the patient’s status and interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s) to whom care/services is being delivered/provided.
✓Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed.
✓Skill in taking vital signs.
✓Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
✓Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public.
✓Ability to maintain quality control standards.
✓Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
✓Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
✓Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to use computers and computer systems.
One year of experience working in school-age student services, preferred.
