Overview The Patient Care Technician, under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse, performs various duties assisting nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established nursing standards. The Patient Care Technician functions in an expanded role after meeting pre-established educational and certification criteria in the performance of at least three (3) key skill roles.

These roles include Nursing Assistance, Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician, Phlebotomy, and EKG. Responsibilities Skill Proficiency. Problem Solving.

Computer order entry. Transcribing of physician orders. Prioritizes.

Reports. Departmental. Collects adequate and correct blood/urine specimens from patients as ordered by physicians, using proper technique and equipment.

Correctly labels specimens and processes. Ensures appropriate delivery of specimens to the lab via courier or specimen pick up from outside agencies. Qualifications Previous experience preferred.

Competencies Skills "Essential: * Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal * Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members * Able To Withstand Crisis Situations * Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors * Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records " Credentials Essential: * BLS - Basic Life Saving certification Education Essential: * High school graduate or equivalent Other Information Previous experience preferred.

Entry USD $17.25/Hr. Max USD $26.74/Hr.
