The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wellstar MCG Augusta is seeking a full time board-certified/board-eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join our expanding Wellstar Medical Group OB Hospitalist Division. Our hospitalists practice in a collaborative academic environment alongside Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, General OB/GYN faculty, residents, medical students, certified nurse midwives, and advanced practice providers.
As one of Georgia’s busiest obstetric centers, our physicians care for a diverse patient population while contributing to resident education, quality improvement, and innovative models of obstetric care. Hospitalists provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care including:Labor and delivery managementVaginal and cesarean deliveriesOperative vaginal deliveryObstetric emergenciesPostpartum careGynecologic emergency consultations and surgeries (2-3 gyn emergencies per 24h shift)Emergency Department consultationsSupervision of OB Emergency DepartmentSupport of antepartum patientsCollaboration with academic physicians, midwives, MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, emergency medicine, and nursingHospitalists also serve as attending physicians supervising OB/GYN residents and medical students in accordance with ACGME standards.
