Responsibilities We staff a suburban level one trauma center and are looking for a well-trained general surgeon to join us. Case mix includes bread and butter general surgery operations along with acute care surgery and daytime trauma coverage. Current services provided include a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, as well as urgent surgery and trauma. General Surgery resident coverage is 24/7 with benefits of an academic environment affiliated with the University of Illinois and the opportunity for research if desired. Home call is 1/3 along with the option to take additionally compensated night and weekend shifts. Current physicians have fellowship training in MIS, hepatobiliary, and surgical critical care. Qualifications We seek a full time general surgeon with an interest in becoming a partner in a suburban practice. The candidate should be interested in practicing a wide range of general surgical procedures, as well as working with and teaching surgery residents and medical students
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
- Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Current DEA registration.
- Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $400,000-450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
