Licensure
✓Provisional Genetic Counselor license in Massachusetts required through the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Genetic Counselors.
Education
✓Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling required, or Master's Degree in a related field of study required.

Qualifications

✓Compassion and sensitivity when supporting patients and families navigating genetic conditions and related information.
✓Ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients, families, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
✓Foundational knowledge of genetics, genetic conditions, and inheritance patterns.
✓Familiarity with electronic health records and genetic databases.
✓Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
✓Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when managing patient documentation, testing workflows, and scheduling.
✓Openness to learning, seeking guidance, and developing clinical skills under the supervision of licensed genetic counselors.
