Job Overview Fairview is looking to hire a Health Information Management (HIM) Operations Representative II to join our team! This position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and offers the flexibility to work in a home-based setting while staying connected and collaborating with the HIM team. The ideal candidate will have previous Epic experience, strong medical record navigation skills, and the ability to efficiently locate, review, and manage health information.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with team members. Previous experience working with Epic and navigating electronic health records. Strong understanding of health information management processes and medical record documentation.
RHIT certification preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality when handling patient information.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable, dependable, and willing to learn new processes and workflows. This position is responsible for HIM operational functions supporting the completeness, integrity, and privacy of medical record documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities focus on ensuring the completeness of patient health records, and that records meet regulatory requirements. Timely and accurate processing of all work is essential.
Responsibilities Generates and monitors the deficiency notification process daily for medical record completion. Performs chart audits to assure appropriate completion of medical record data elements. Completes special projects as needed.
Understands and adheres to Revenue Cycle’s Escalation Policy. Contributes to the process of or enablement of collecting expected payment by ensuring health records are available in a timely manner and contains the required elements for downstream Revenue Cycle workflows and to meet regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications A.
A./A. S. health information management or related field. Two (2) years of experience in an applicable health information management department may substitute for an associate degree. 2 years Health Information Management, medical office, or comparable work experience or education.
Working knowledge in EHR and/or scanning/imaging processes.
B. S./B.
