Certifications
✓Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Education
✓High School Graduate / GED
Qualifications
✓Screen both ears on the initial screening and rescreen (if applicable) per the screening protocol defined in the Newborn Hearing Screen Policies and Procedures manual.
✓Answer general questions and inquiries as well as providing written information to the parents regarding the hearing screen procedures and results.
✓Obtain and document consent, to perform the hearing screen, from parent prior to screening.
✓Verify the following prior to screening: infant’s name, mother’s name, mother’s date of birth, parents’ insurance, demographic information, family history of hearing loss, and name of Pediatrician (if applicable).
✓Give the parent(s) a copy of the result form and place the original copy in the infant’s medical record.
✓Enter initial screen and rescreen results in hospital EHR as required by facility and/or on State website.
✓Record number of daily screens in the time and attendance record keeping system.
✓Keep a daily log or census for each date of service of all infants screened each day and will submit log with billing paperwork once signed by the physician.
✓Prepare a billing packet for each infant. This will include a copy of the results, the mother’s and infant’s face sheet, along with the billing slip.
✓Adhere to all HIPAA, PHI and OSHA guidelines.
✓Maintain and use the equipment as recommended by the company.
✓Restock and organize hearing supplies and communicate shortages to Supervisor in a period established by Supervisor.
