Plans and delivers professional infusion therapy to patients. Job Responsibility Provides intravenous infusions, transfusions, or venipuncture care to patients under the direction of a physician. Places, monitors, and maintains IVs or catheters for the purposes of delivering antibiotics, parenteral nutrition, or other medications or therapeutic treatments as directed.
Documents patient condition, vital statistics, diagnosis, and prescribed treatments. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
