O.) in the state(s) of practice, with training or experience in caring for chronically or terminally ill patientsMaintains active DEA licenseValid driver's licenseRequires strong clinical judgment, administrative capabilities, and excellent communication skills to support patient care and interdisciplinary collaborationMust demonstrate a clear commitment to AccentCare's philosophy, mission, values, and culture of compassionate end-of-life careResponsibilities:Provide overall medical direction for both hospice and palliative care services across the Maryland programSupervise hospice team physicians and ensure 24/7 physician coverage for patient needsPartner with Executive Director and Director of Clinical Services on planning and evaluation for both service linesServe on the Executive Team and lead strategic planning across both service linesSet and uphold standards for documentation, compliance, and quality metrics across both service linesLead IDG meetings for individualized, anticipatory care planningConduct in-person and virtual hospice visits with timely documentationParticipate in call coverage rotation for after-hours and newly admitted patientsGuide symptom management: pain, nausea, end-of-life comfort careCertify and recertify hospice eligibility per regulatory requirementsSupervise nurse practitioners delivering palliative care in acute and post-acute settingsProvide clinical oversight and sign-off on NP assessments, goals-of-care conversations, and care plansServe as physician of record and escalation point for complex palliative casesLead education for NPs, nursing staff, and community providers on serious illness communication and advance care planningOur Investment in YouCaring for others starts with caring for you.
