The position directly manages HR Business Partners and Generalists. The role is client-centric in that the incumbent is a working leader with assigned clients and must meet the needs and expectations of clients to ensure delivery of customer service goals. The incumbent will also ensure the integration of HR business partners into the business of their clients. The position is accountable for all associated HR policy and regulatory compliance within scope of the position. Manages subordinate managers primarily responsible for administering personnel policies and procedures. Establishes objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing HR resources. Reviews and approves recommendations for HR programs. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have organization-wide effect. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve HR goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules. May manage HR professionals in a central HR function, identifying functional objectives for the organization, and determining the resources necessary to achieve those objectives. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Thorough knowledge of organizational and systemwide personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations. Direct knowledge of specific functions in a university's HR management information systems. Excellent communication skills with a diversity of communication styles; may make oral or written presentations.
