✓Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS/Responder certification required prior to completion of orientation.
✓Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
Education
✓Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
✓Currently enrolled in nursing school and completion of at least one clinical rotation.

✓Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
✓Successful completion of one of the following:
✓Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
✓Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements

About the role

The Emergency Department Technician/Health Unit Coordinator/Admission Clerk works under the direction of a RN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. She/He will directly/indirectly impact the patient outcomes and care provided to our customers.
