✓Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license in the state of California within 90 days of hire
✓Current California licensure in good standing by specialty:
✓Physician Assistant
✓National board certification in area of clinical practice upon hire
Certifications
✓UCSF Health requires all advanced health professionals to be credentialed through the Office of Medical Affairs and Governance to practice and function in their clinical role.
✓Current American Heart Association CPR certification
✓Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification
Education
✓Master's Degree required in a health care related field from an accredited program
Qualifications
✓A minimum of 2 years progressive responsibility of related healthcare leadership.
✓Competent to direct patient management and lead care team
✓Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as an Advanced Practitioner.
Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters. preferred
In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, systems, external regulations and internal policies. preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively supervise clinicians, manage complex workflow and multiple priorities. preferred
Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinical departments. preferred

About the role

Develops APP orientation and facilitates the integration into clinical practice. Responsible for training and competency assessments ensuring all APPs are competent in required skill sets to provide safe patient care. Pursues professional development and facilitates access for subordinate staff for training, development, and educational opportunities in all relevant specialties.
