You’ll need
Certifications
✓Current CPR Card (American Heart Association)
✓State of Illinois 40-Hour Armed Security Officer Certification (Semi-Automatic firearm) with a firearm requalification date within six months of date of hire
✓Completion of the following Training/Certifications provided by Ingalls
✓Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Verbal Intervention Training/Certification (within the first 60 days of employment)
✓Must obtain IAHSS Basic Certified Healthcare Security Officer within six months of appointment.
1-2 years of experience in a public safety position (public safety / security officer, police officer, firefighter / EMT) or comparable military service preferred
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent
Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent field preferred
Qualifications
✓Valid Driver's License
✓Valid Illinois Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) Card
✓State of Illinois Firearm Control Card (issued after hire and upon arrival from State of Illinois)
✓Must complete required FEMA ICS 100 and 200 level courses within six months of appointment.

About the role
Under general supervision, the Armed Public Safety Officer provides and maintains a safe environment for employees, patients, visitors, and medical staff through the use of uniformed patrols, emergency response, customer service and enforcement of policies and regulations at all Ingalls facilities. This is an armed position.
