You’ll need
Certifications
✓Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within two (2) years of hire .
Education
✓Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
✓Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and academic partners across the hospital and university environment.
Degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related discipline preferred.
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field preferred.
Qualifications
✓Minimum of 2 years of related professional experience required.
✓Relevant experience may include Infection Control, Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Health Education, or Public Health .
✓Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles , epidemiology, microbiology, and clinical practices related to infection prevention.
✓Familiarity with healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) , evidence-based prevention strategies, and practices related to cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization.
✓Understanding of regulatory standards , infection prevention guidelines, and performance improvement methodologies.
✓Knowledge of adult learning principles for effective staff education and training.
✓Strong communication and presentation skills with experience educating both small and large groups.
✓Ability to implement infection prevention policies and lead performance improvement initiatives at both unit and organizational levels.
✓Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret infection surveillance data.
