You’ll need
Licensure
✓Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas and credentialed by the State to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
✓A valid DEA number must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
✓Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
✓Valid DEA number must be obtained within 90-days of hire.
Certifications
✓Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental staff bylaws.
✓Prescriptive authority is required.
✓Certification by a national nursing body is required.
✓Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended.
✓Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws.
✓Providers practicing in acute care environment must obtain AHA ACLS certification or advanced specialty equivalent as defined by the UMA Credentials Committee within 90 days of hire.
Education
✓A Registered Professional Nurse who is prepared for advanced nursing practice by virtue of knowledge and skills obtained through an accredited post basic or advanced educational program of study acceptable to the Board of Nurse Examiners.
✓Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities is required.
A Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
Qualifications
✓Must be a participating Medicare provider or eligible to obtain a Medicare provider number.
✓Three years of nursing experience is required and two years of advanced practice is preferred.
