Location: Driscoll Children’s Hospital – Inpatient RehabilitationSchedule: PRN (as needed). This position provides flexible coverage primarily on weekdays but may also include weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage. Driscoll Children’s Hospital is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to join our inpatient Rehabilitation team.

In this role, you’ll provide evaluation and treatment services to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through adolescents while working closely with families and an interdisciplinary care team. This is a great opportunity for an SLP who is passionate about pediatric care and interested in providing additional coverage in a hospital setting.

Evaluate patients using appropriate assessment tools and clinical judgment. Develop individualized, functional, and measurable treatment goals based on each patient’s age and developmental needs. Provide speech-language pathology treatment services according to the patient’s plan of care.

Educate patients and families regarding evaluation results, recommendations, treatment goals, and home programs. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other members of the patient care team. Participate in patient care conferences and other team meetings.

Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Serve as a care coordinator when appropriate. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, confidentiality, and hospital policies.

Provide clinical guidance to students, interns, and rehabilitation support staff as appropriate. Education and

  • Language Pathology or Communication DisordersBilingual in English/Spanish preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:Texas Licensure as a Speech
  • Language PathologistCurrent Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech
  • Language
  • Hearing AssociationCurrent CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
