Responsibilities Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is a 182-bed, care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, FL. FLBHC features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health.
The Unit Therapist works with adults to help them overcome psychological/emotional issues as well as substance abuse issues. They will complete psychosocial assessments and formulate treatment plans based on individual needs in addition to conducting a process group daily. The therapist will be able to recognize crisis situations and provide interventions.
Ability to work collaboratively with peers, administrators, physicians, and allied staff is a must. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required
Two (2) year of experience working in a Behavioral Health Center or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or adolescents treating co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with an understanding of co-occurring disorders, Therapeutic group procedures and dynamics and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.
