You’ll need
Certifications
National Translation Accreditation Language Competency or California State Interpreter Certification preferred.
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED required.
✓Proof of training in an accredited interpreter program required.
Associate's Degree preferred.
Qualifications
✓Minimum two years of experience as an interpreter in a healthcare setting using in-person, telephone, and video-remote interpretation required.
✓Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, as well as basic knowledge of cultural folk medicine required.
✓Strong customer service background required.
✓Bi-lingual and bi-cultural in English and Spanish required.
✓Able to read, write legibly
✓speak in English with professional quality
✓use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
✓Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
✓Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others

About the role
Job Summary: The Interpreter/Translator provides competent and culturally sensitive Spanish in-person, telephone, and video-remote interpretation for patients and their families/caregivers with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Serves all sites licensed under Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) license.
