JOB TITLE: Inventory Specialist - Unity Hospital, Materials Management (Full-Time, Days) STATUS: Full-Time LOCATION: Unity Hospital - 1555 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626 DEPARTMENT: Materials Management
M-F, Flexible start and end time 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM SUMMARY The Inventory Specialist oversees inventory, equipment, and supply levels in a computerized fashion. RESPONSIBILITIES Communicates needs to collaborating team members, orders supplies, and optimizes efficiencies in supply management processes. Systematically addresses par levels and expiration dates in conjunction with team members.
Maintains product availability, works with vendors as appropriate to ensure adequate levels and/or appropriate substitutions are maintained, tracks back orders and works with collaborating team members on alternate planning. Coordinates recall programs and substitute products. Plans, conducts, and oversees inventory and variances.
Responsible for receiving and storing of stock items, including rotation of stock. Coordinates efforts to work with vendors and health care team to introduce new products that improve evidence-based practice changes and/or safety compliance, as well as improve financial efficiency opportunities and communicates all changes effectively to team members. Reconciles all service-level and inventory discrepancies as they arise to prevent an impact to level of care.
Associate's Degree in Business/Computer Science preferred. 3 - 5 years of experience in health care inventory operations, including materials management systems preferred. Computer software applications for inventory control.

Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67–100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing.
Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

$19.75 - $27.25 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
