Lab Care Technician I

✓Requirements
Certifications
✓Phlebotomy certificate/license is not required, but preferred.
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
1-year pediatric phlebotomy experience and/or one year of experience in a pediatric clinical laboratory setting, and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program. preferred
Qualifications
✓Collects specimens using knowledge of laboratory techniques.
✓Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
✓Ability to work in a fast paced environment to meet established turnaround times.
✓Possesses outstanding professional and positive customer service skills.
✓Must have excellent problem solving and follow-up skills.
✓Experience with healthcare computer information systems.
✓Solid knowledge of medical terminology.
✓Must be highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional, work independently and within a team.
✓Demonstrates forward thinking approach, continually looking for ways to improve processes, tools and resources to best serve the healthcare team and clients.
✓Ability to manage challenging situations in providing services to patients and families.
✓Ability to adapt, learn new skills, communicate effectively, and cope with stressful work situations.
Experience as a phlebotomist or specimen processing tech in a hospital setting. preferred
