Certifications
✓Graduate of a certified Scrub Technician/Surgical Technologist program.
✓Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Education
✓High School Diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, aseptic technique, infection prevention, and perioperative practices.
✓Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and adapt effectively during complex or unexpected procedures.
✓Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
✓Ability to organize work, establish priorities, multitask, and work independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when appropriate.
✓Demonstrated professionalism when interacting with patients, families, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and supervisors.
✓Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, quality outcomes, confidentiality, and professional accountability.
✓Ability to remain calm, focused, flexible, and responsive in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery and surgical environment.
2–3 years of operating room experience preferred.
