As a Laboratory Courier, you will perform daily, preventive maintenance of assigned vehicles and perform scheduled deliveries and pickups at all perimeter locations according to your established route and schedule. This position is here to assist the lab and move specimens as quickly as possible to provide patients with their test results. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens to designated areas. Use appropriate handling, storage and transportation methods. Perform daily, preventive maintenance of an assigned vehicle.

Verify that delivery has been completed properly. Ensure that all items are picked up and delivered, barcodes are scanned, and signatures are obtained. Submit daily route sheets, accident reports, maintenance records and mileage reports.

Check all fluid levels daily and perform basic safety checks of mechanical operations. Report any malfunctions and problems to the section leader for correction.

Typical physical demands include full body motion including ability to lift and transport medium weight materials up to 100 lbs. Ability to spend long hours driving and working in all weather conditions. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
