Certifications
✓Current BLS Certification required
✓Monitor Technician Certification and Continuing Education (required within 6 months of hire)
Education
✓Knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures
Qualifications
✓4 years Trauma Tech Experience required
✓Ability to document patient care activities using acceptable medical terminology
✓Skill in transporting various types of patients using different transport modes
✓Knowledge of common surgical instruments
✓Ability to lift, push, pull
✓Ability to carry out directives from nursing and physician staff
✓Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
✓Ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced environment
✓Skill in prioritizing tasks
✓Completion of initial decontamination training (LA County Weapons of Mass Destruction Hospital Mass Casualty Decontamination Class or equivalent) and maintenance of skills through quarterly re-verification sessions and annual disaster exercises (required within 6 months of hire or when training avai

About the role

The ED ETT delivers patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses. Performs basic patient care skills; follows infection control practices; positions, transfers, and transports patients; takes vital signs; collects specimens; accurately observes, reports, and documents; performs range of motion; assists with feedings, self-care activities, and elimination needs.
