The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for nursing staff coordination within the practice. The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse will participate in the care of patients in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms.

Will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status. Responsible for coordinating the workload of the nursing staff. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.

QualificationsLicensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask. Excellent patient/customer service, verbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification. Must successfully complete the medication test within 30 days of hire.

One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience. Previous staff coordination experience. Licensure/Certification/RegistrationCurrent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license eligible for practice in the State of Florida.

Florida participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current AHA or Red Cross BLS/CPR certification, or obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Motor Vehicle Operator DesignationWill not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.

Frequent Driver Definition: An employee who uses their personal or Shands automobile:At least once daily; orAt least five individual trips per week; orDrives an average of more than 150 miles per week in the performance of their job.
