The LMS Application Lead provides day-to-day functional leadership for the planning, design, build, implementation, integration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Learning Management System (LMS) at RWJBarnabas Health.
Serving as an LMS business and application subject matter expert, this position translates operational needs into system solutions while guiding LMS architecture, workflows, configuration, integrations, testing, and enhancements. The LMS Application Lead partners with operational leaders, vendors, Principal Trainers, Credentialed Trainers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to drive successful project delivery and system adoption.
As an LMS Application Lead, a typical day may include: Providing functional leadership for LMS application build, implementation, optimization, support, and project activities Guiding LMS architecture, integrations, workflow design, system requirements, configuration decisions, and future-state workflows Translating operational and end-user requirements into LMS solutions Leading resolution of complex LMS build, integration, configuration, and cross-application issues Managing project deliverables, timelines, risks, escalations, mitigation plans, and status reporting Coordinating with vendors, operational leaders, technical teams, Principal Trainers, Credentialed Trainers, and subject matter experts Overseeing LMS build, testing, software updates, releases, new functionality, and enhancement prioritization Maintaining current-state and future-state workflows, specifications, business cases, decisions, risks, and project documentation Establishing standards for LMS build practices, naming conventions, security classifications, releases, and documentation Coordinating change readiness, training alignment, stakeholder engagement, and communication of workflow changes Supporting team execution by aligning resources, facilitating project communication, resolving conflicts, and escalating risks This Role Might Be For You If You have strong experience with LMS administration, application build, and system support You enjoy leading complex application initiatives and coordinating work across multiple teams You understand LMS architecture, integrations, configuration, testing, releases, and optimization You can translate operational requirements into effective system and workflow solutions You are comfortable managing project timelines, risks, escalations, and competing priorities You have strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills You can provide functional leadership and subject matter expertise without relying on formal authority To Be Considered for the LMS Application Lead position, you must have: Associate’s degree with 4+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of related work experience 3+ years of LMS administration experience Active Epic Analyst accreditation or certification Ability to maintain applicable Epic Principal Trainer certification(s) through New Version Training (NVT) Experience working with operational workflows, multidisciplinary teams, customer groups, and application support processes Experience supporting LMS application build, configuration, integrations, testing, implementation, or optimization Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder engagement, and functional leadership skills Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead complex issue resolution Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel
