Position is scheduled for 36 hours a week on day shift from 7am to 7pm.
License to practice respiratory care from the Idaho Board of Medicine required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required. Two years of clinical experience required, preferably in a critical care or emergency department.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider's certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk. Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable). Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize changes in the patient's condition, make independent judgments, and modify the care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols. With high degree of competence, performs all aspects of respiratory care delivered at this facility. Monitors the proper utilization of all Respiratory Care systems.
Adjusts staffing levels to meet workload demands. Functions as a resource therapist, assisting with patient are as needed. Carries a partial workload and/or assist with starting new patient care activity.
Confers with RT Manager/Director and RT Coordinators to identify educational programs to maintain and develop skills of respiratory care personnel. Performs annual employee performance appraisals as assigned by manager.
