Licensure
✓Current State LPN License.
✓Acquires a minimum of ten hours of continuing nursing education in addition to mandatory licensure requirements.
Certifications
✓Meets all technical certification requirements defined by unit (i.e. BLS, ACLS, PALS)
✓Maintains records that provide evidence of competency and acquired knowledge, skills, and certification necessary for practice setting.
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED.
✓New graduate LPNs or those with less than one year of experience will be referred to the LPN residency program.
Qualifications
✓Minimum of ten (10) hours of continuing nursing education annually in addition to the 20 hours of mandatory licensure requirement.
✓The LPN participates in educational activities to improve clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
Previous experience in a clinical setting. Minimum of two (2) years experience. preferred
Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities preferred
Demonstrates knowledge appropriate to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations specific to unit of practice preferred
Demonstrates critical thinking skills preferred
Demonstrates sound clinical skills and judgment preferred
Demonstrates basic computer skills necessary to operate computer systems used on unit preferred
