Promotes customer satisfaction through competent professional practice and focus on patient needs and expectations. Promotes a positive image through an efficient and cooperative approach to all tasks. Presents a professional approach and appearance, a friendly smile and pleasant tone of voice.
Acts as a change agent, operating as an active part of the team and using constructive problem solving. Maintains confidentiality and refrains from criticism of co-workers, the department, hospital, guests and patients. Demonstrates reliability by reporting to work on time and when scheduled.
Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the hospital. Provides safe and efficient patient care. Implements and documents direct patient care: bath, oral hygiene, shampoo; assist patients with eating and meal selection; record I & O and calorie count.
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers. Participates in skin care management by performing daily re-assessments and prescribed wound care. Collects specimens, takes vital signs, monitors I & O, removes saline locks, insert and remove Foley catheters, administer oxygen therapy, and incentive spirometry.
Performs blood glucose monitoring and maintains log book and quality control. Reports and documents all related interventions. Assists the physician with bedside procedures.
Provides for the safety and psychosocial needs of patients. Assists the patient to ambulate and re-position. Maintains a calm, caring and re-assuring demeanor.
Re-enforces patient educational efforts. Utilizes equipment properly, answers call lights and patient requests promptly. Demonstrates proper use and application of restraints.
Exhibits an awareness of patient rights and respects those rights at all times. Reports to the RN any patient information pertinent to discharge planning activities. Maintains current professional knowledge base.
Successfully completes all competencies and skills verifications. Attends all required in-services and continuing education. Maintains current CPR certification.
