* American Red Cross lifeguard certification; YMCA lifeguard or other certifications may be accepted - * If your certification has expired, we can discuss ways to get renewed At least 2 years High School Education; Must be at least age 16+, ages 16-17 requires work permit Need First Aid, CPR, AED Knowledge and demonstration of basic rescue technique and Excellent swimming skills including ability to swim 300 meters using the 5 basic strokes Experience as lifeguard preferred bur newly certified or interested, considered This position is responsible to monitor pool activity and facilitate safe and appropriate pool practices, to rescue/assist those in need and provide instruction to participants, to maintain a clean pool environment.

Changes assignments if needed. *Creates a positive work environment, regularly assists coworkers, gives positive feedback when appropriate, and acts as a mentor to new employees/students. *Actively motivates and assists members with their swimming proficiency and overall fitness goals. Maintains order by aiding members in appropriate lane selection. Lifeguard is responsible for adding lanes depending on the number of participants for water fitness classes. *Actively maintains clean pool areas by performing the following as needed: scrubbing pool scum line, hosing pool decks, wiping down pool ladders and drinking fountains, and keeping drains free of debris.
