Job OverviewFairview is looking to hire a Casual Linen Aide to join our team at Fairview East Bank University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. This is a casual position, meaning there is no set or guaranteed schedule. We are ideally looking for someone who offers flexible availability, is open to working weekends, and is available to work day, evening, and night shifts as needed.
This position is represented by AFSCME Local 1164. The Linen Aide's job is to provide a superior level of linen service, quality and maintenance throughout the facility. Duties include (but not limited to) filling linen carts and responding to order requests with clean linen items, delivery and pickup of soiled linen, tracking linen usage daily using hospital's tracking system and performing other linen related duties as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms all tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, facility staff and customersInspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry; records and returns rejects to laundryRemoves clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas. Loads carts for deliveryReplenishes linen according to established levels and/or utilizationMaintains log for linen closets, documents unused linen, and reports any apparent discrepancy between established standards and actual usageMaintains linen room in a clean and orderly conditionPerforms all other related and miscellaneous duties as requiredMakes certain that while delivering through the hospital, the clean linen is coveredTakes count of linen not used from previous deliveryCollect and load soiled linen into carts from soil collection areas in the facility and take it to designated pick-up areaMaintain records utilization information on tablet and/or paper.
