LPN

The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the Patient Care Manager of the unit.

Performance Expectations: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to read data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.

Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation, shift reports, and verbal communication. Communicates pertinent patient information to all healthcare team members. Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, equipment and certifications required: demonstrate the technical aptitude for working and troubleshooting equipment used on 7T including but not limited to, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry monitoring devices.

Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety, and compliance standards. Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, ongoing competencies, equipment and certifications required in specific nursing area, including EKG rhythm identification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills Graduate of a recognized non-online LPN program required. Work

Work experience preferred but not required Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS with expanded role of IV certification. Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below Basic Life Support Within 30 Days of Employment Required Telemetry Nurse Education Within 90 Days of Employment Required Mental Demands: Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and function under stress.
