Performs a variety of duties to maintain smooth operation of Hospital systems. Maintains, repairs, inspects and installs steam plant/refrigeration plant machinery and associated equipment. Apprentice level experience required in at least one of the following categories: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting or HVAC.
Employee will work under the direction of the Engineering Site Manager, or his designee. Assignments will be given daily. Snow removal may be required.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must obtain a City of Providence Boiler Operator’s License.
Three to five years’ experience in boiler operator field and a Minimum of 3 years’ experience at apprentice level in one or more trades. Skills and Abilities: · Must be able to maintain, repair, inspects and installs steam plant/refrigeration plant machinery and associated equipment, and perform at apprentice level in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical or HVAC. · Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers. · Maintains information confidential (HIPAA) · Demonstrated customer service skills · Ability to utilize responsive customer service skills when interacting and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers · Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines · Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams.
