Ensures new construction and renovations comply with all regulatory agency codes and standards. Reviews code changes and initiates policy programs to maintain compliance. Distributes work assignments and supervises daily activities of personnel.
Coordinates with supervisors in other departments to schedule repairs and maintenance. Expedites assignments as directed and supervises personnel with repairs as necessary. Reads architectural blueprints and schematics of building and mechanical systems, equipment, and wiring diagrams.
Maintains and updates a complete set of drawings. Reviews work requests and related documentation generated by shop personnel for accuracy and completeness. Initiates preventive maintenance procedures for new equipment and determines frequency of inspection.
Orders supplies and repair parts and maintains inventory of supplies. Coordinates with vendors as necessary.
