About the role

Accountable for the performance of health care services, applying X-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of breast disease in humans. Accountable for the performance of medical imaging of the breast, which will allow the radiologist to visualize all the breast adequately to give an optimal interpretation. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains good medical ethics.

Successfully manipulate mammography machineSuccessfully manipulate mammography machine to best achieve the desired position allowing as much breast tissue to be visualized
Adequately position and compressAdequately position and compress breast to achieve the best mammogram possible
Explain to the patientExplain to the patient the need for and the importance of compression
