Mammography Tech PER Diem

US:NV:Carson City Breast Center Per Diem Day Shift Summary o Performs mammography, including screening, diagnostic, and breast procedures as well as DEXA exams. Assists Radiologists and other specialists in performing diagnostic and Interventional procedures. Provides procedures related to patient care and education.

Maintains records and documentation of exams and procedures. Qualifications • Required o Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and Mammography o State of Nevada certification in Mammography and Radiography. o Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. o Must be able to work at other locations as needed

o Performs screening and diagnostic mammography. o Performs DEXA exams. o Explains and prepares patients for procedures and obtains any required consent forms. o Positions patient in most suitable anatomical position and shields patients accordingly. Practices radiation protection procedures according to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) for patients, self and others. Practices medical and surgical aseptic and sterile techniques as needed. o Documents patient assessment/history related to procedures and provides patient care and education to meet patient’s physical and psychological needs. o Assists Radiologist and other specialists in performing image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures (stereotactic biopsy, needle localization, galactograms.) o Recognizes and reports any malfunction or variation to service and notifies the department lead and supervisor for recommended service or replacement. o Responsible for following department workflow and completing patient and department records, including billing exams appropriately and reviewing images for diagnostic quality. o Performs other related duties as assigned.
