Description Mammography Technologist |PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center $49.68 - $70.14 per hour, DOE Hiring incentives may be available Full-time, 1.0 FTE Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm What If You Were the Mammography Expert for an Entire Community? Most mammography positions ask you to show up, do your exams, and move on to the next patient. This isn't one of those positions.

In Ketchikan, Alaska, your expertise matters. The women who walk through your doors aren't anonymous appointments. They're neighbors, teachers, business owners, mothers, daughters, and friends.

The images you capture and the reassurance you provide become part of the healthcare backbone of an entire island community. As the Mammography Technologist at PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center, you'll have the kind of professional ownership that's becoming increasingly rare. You'll perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, assist with breast biopsies, help oversee MQSA program requirements, and serve as the trusted breast imaging resource for the community.

Your days feel different here. Instead of rushing through a packed schedule of endless appointments, you'll typically see 10-12 patients each day. You'll have time to focus on image quality, patient education, and the personal interactions that make mammography such an important specialty.

Working with Hologic 3D technology, you'll know you're producing work that matters and helping patients receive care close to home. And when your day ends, it ends. Monday through Friday. 7:30am to 4:00pm.

No routine call. Outside the hospital, life in Ketchikan offers something many imaging professionals spend years looking for: room to breathe. Surrounded by ocean, mountains, forests, and wildlife, the community feels connected in a way that's hard to replicate elsewhere.

You're close enough to Seattle to stay connected, yet far enough away to enjoy a completely different pace of life. At PeaceHealth, a highly trusted, person-first, values-driven organization, caregivers are treated with the same compassion and respect that patients receive. You'll find support for your wellbeing, professional development, and long-term success because caring for caregivers is fundamental to how we serve our communities.

Compensation & Incentives $49.68 - $70.14 per hour Hiring incentives may be available Full-time, 1.0 FTE Day shift Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Why You'll Love This Role Become the mammography expert for a close-knit community that truly values your expertise. Enjoy meaningful autonomy and ownership of both clinical work and MQSA program management. Work with a manageable daily volume that allows you to focus on quality over quantity.

Build relationships with patients and colleagues instead of feeling like one more technologist in a massive department. Leave work at work with a consistent weekday schedule and no routine call responsibilities. What the Day Feels Like You start the morning reviewing the day's schedule while looking out at a harbor framed by mountains and evergreens.

Patients arrive throughout the day for screening and diagnostic exams. Many know your name. Some are nervous.

Others are returning for routine care. You guide them through the process with confidence and compassion, helping make a stressful appointment a little easier. Between exams, you collaborate with radiologists, ensure MQSA requirements remain on track, and help maintain the quality standards that keep the program running smoothly.

You head home in the afternoon knowing your expertise helped an entire community access essential breast imaging services close to home. Who Thrives Here Enjoys being trusted to manage their work without constant oversight. Takes pride in image quality, compliance, and attention to detail.

Appreciates building meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues. Prefers purpose and impact over anonymity. Loves the idea of combining clinical expertise with program ownership and leadership responsibilities.

Why You'll Love Living Here Ketchikan isn't for everyone, and that's exactly why the people who love it rarely want to leave. Life here revolves less around traffic and more around nature. You'll find mountain trails, fishing, boating, wildlife, and ocean views woven into everyday life.

The community is small enough that people know each other, yet large enough to offer the essentials. If you've ever wondered what it would feel like to practice healthcare somewhere your work truly matters, Ketchikan has a way of answering that question.
